Pre-Shipment Inspection for Japanese Used Cars
QISJ for Kenya, Intertek MOZ for Mozambique, JEVIC/NZTA for New Zealand, JAAI for Bangladesh — the inspector depends on the destination, not on “Africa”.
Pre-shipment inspection is destination-specific. There is no single “Japan export inspection” that satisfies Kenya, Mozambique, New Zealand, and Bangladesh at once. Book the correct agent before the sailing cut-off.
Who needs what (2026 planning)
| Destination | Typical Japan-side inspection |
|---|---|
| Kenya | QISJ Certificate of Roadworthiness (KEBS PVoC / KS 1515) |
| Mozambique | Intertek PSI + MOZ number (Diploma 244/2011) |
| New Zealand | MPI-approved biosecurity system + NZTA border inspection (JEVIC, ATL, Bordercheck, KMA, etc.) |
| Bangladesh | JAAI (or required PSI) age/identity certificate |
| Uganda | UNBS US 845 — confirm current PVoC agent |
| Zambia | Current ZABS-appointed inspector |
| UK / Hong Kong | No KEBS-style PVoC; destination approval/exam still applies |

Timing
East Africa RoRo is often monthly. A late inspection slot misses the vessel. Kenya also needs the IDF before sailing. Mozambique needs the MOZ number before loading.
