How to Import a Japanese Used Car to Mozambique
Mozambique is RHD with no hard age ban, but Intertek PSI and a MOZ number are mandatory before shipping. Older cars (over 7 years) have paid higher tax. Maputo is the main RoRo port.

- No general maximum age ban, but tax treatment has been harsher on units over 7 years (2017 regime — confirm current Autoridade Tributária rates).

- Bill of lading must show chassis, engine, CC, year, make, and model.

Do not use Kenya percentages
Ask AT or a Maputo broker for the current HS 87.03 schedule. VAT applies on the customs tax base. Confirm current rates with Autoridade Tributária de Moçambique.

- Apply for the MOZ number from Intertek with invoice/engine details.
- PSI in Japan.
- Export and RoRo to Maputo (or Beira/Nacala).
- AT customs; then INATTER/registration.
