Temporary Import

Duration: 2 years with a possible one-year extension

Bond Deposit: 40-45% of CIF value

The vehicle is allowed to stay in Angola for 2 years with a possible one-year extension. A bond deposit of 40-45% of CIF value is required. When the vehicle is re-exported, the deposit is paid back.

Definitive Import

Import Duty: 40-45% tax based on CIF value

Import Tax: Import taxes on all vehicles (except pick up with 5 percent tax) are 10% plus VAT

Special Attention Required
It is imperative to promptly clear the vehicle upon its arrival in Luanda. Any delay in clearance, occurring beyond the 30th day post-arrival due to insufficient documentation, will incur a penalty of 5% based on the CIF (Cost, Insurance, and Freight) value. Hence, swift processing of documentation is essential to avoid additional charges.
